Just a clarification and I hope you won't get offended, Blu-ray Discs (BD) are not DVD's. HD-DVD's have better quality and larger storage than normal DVD's. But Blu-ray Discs have even bigger storage than HD-DVD's but might compromise some of its qualities. BD's can have 40 GB to 100GB of storage in one disc.
