I'm not sure of a few points though. The ending (not meaning to be a spoiler) was clearly set up for another movie (hooray!). I thought that the golden compass was based off a book, so does anyone know how many movies to exect? I would rather wait for a box set than buy each one individually.

I haven't seen the movie, but according to wikipedia,
the book the film was based on is part of a
trilogy, but I haven't heard anything about sequels to the film
