But so far, we don't have to panic because the worth of Blu-ray players are so high that people will still prefer DVD players. But yeah, after a decade or less, DVD's will be history.

Totally agree with this. I am actually dumbfounded that we still rely on a standalone player that actually plugs into the tv to play movies. It seems like such an ancient technology already. We should totally be at the point of having a little ipod-like unit that is everything - stores the movies, is the player itself and transmits to the tv wirelessly. You know it's coming at some point....
Frankly, i don't know that i will go running out to spend any big money on a blu-ray player any time soon. The dough just isn't worth it to me - i'm perfectly fine with the quality of my standard dvds at present time... and I am all about technology and the geeky stuff... but it reaches a point where the investment just isn't worth the results.
