Interesting note. Cyclists being rear ended by cars is one of the rarest accidents a cyclists can have. Personally I can't stand handlebar mounted mirrors because passing cars will pass closer to you when they know you can see them. I've personally tested that one for hundreds of miles. I prefer the little mirrors mounted on my sunglasses or the little helmet mounted ones. They take getting used to but they let you see just as much if you aren't bobbing your fool head all over the place. Riding like a pedestrian on the wrong side of the road against traffic is dangerous. Someday some left hand turning vehicle is going to flatten you because they won't see you till it's too late. That is not an uncommon accident for cyclists. How do you handle being chased off the pavement by most of the cars you face?
