PART TWO:
CCat Quote:
(Yes, I realize the compilation of various scrolls that comprise the received texts of today were not called the bible back then any more that the "word" dinosaur did not exist before 1840.)
I'm not sure what you are trying to say here Bob ??? Maybe that the dead sea scrolls or some other biblical writings are the words of your imaginary God ??? Or maybe you just see some bits and pieces in them that you would like added to the Bible ??? I would think that if there was an all powerful God, he wouldn't leave us guessing what was his word... He would make sure that all of mankind were all on the same page...
CCat Sez: Or maybe you just see some bits and pieces in them that you would like added to the Bible ???
Bob sez: Revelations 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
CCat sez: I would think that if there was an all powerful God, he wouldn't leave us guessing what was his word... He would make sure that all of mankind were all on the same page...
Bob Sez:
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
CCAT SAYS: the dead sea scrolls or some other biblical writings are the words of your imaginary God ???
NO, they are the corrupted words of my God.
(Catholics, please skip this part and move on down.)
Much simplified historically, they are the works of the Alexandrian cult in Egypt dating from the first century AD.
The dead sea scrolls, the Catholic bible, and all modern bibles excepting the KJV all originated with the Alexandrian cult manuscripts, which; as they were not much used, are the oldest surviving original manuscripts. The texts coming from two atheistic astrologers Wescott and Hort, greek translation scholars who made good translations of the (bad) Alexandrian cult manuscripts also came from this corrupted source. That is why I will not acknowledge any biblical quotes from any other source than the KJV.
That has resulted in the Catholic mess that still stands largely today, which has destroyed and discredited almost all of Christendom throughout europe. The rest having come about by the abuse of numerous papal personages who were into heavy political intrigue. The political intrigue was the direct result of knowledge accumulated in the confessional. As they say, knowledge is power, especially when you know where the skeletons are buried.
For a time a Catholic could even buy advanced absolution for a sin they wanted to commit. They even had a set rate: so much for adultery, so much for murder etc. Purgatory however, (to the best of my knowledge) was and is, simply a good money maker for the church, with relatives feeling guilty if they don't BUY their deceased a more comfortable afterlife.
Understand, political intrigue did not involve JUST Popes or Cardinals, but often went as low as individual parish priests who often 'sold' their knowledge for position. This is not to say that there were not then as now, honest (if mislead) priests. When I was much younger (BC), I've accompanied Catholic priests to Canadian blind pig night clubs, that were every bit as glamorous as any in Reno or Vagas at that time. While never Catholic myself, I've known my share of priests. >Stories end here!< It was never my intent to alienate any Catholic readers. Unfortunately, your refusal to communicate privately has forced this issue into the open way beyond my preference in order to explain a little about the corrupted words of my God.

CCAT SEZ: I need to ask you Bob, just from reading the things that you say...
Do you think that I am a evil person because I'm an atheist???
Bob SEZ: As an 'evolved' piece of lightning struck slime, aren't you taking an awful lot upon yourself to call yourself either good or evil? I've never even seen an 'evil' rock, even the one that slew Able wasn't evil. Or have you forgotten already that without God's standard, nothing CAN be evil or good.
However the bible says: Psalm 53:1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;

Oh, btw., I've been meaning to compliment you on the stylized Christian fish that you've been enclosing your name in lately. Is this what is known as a Freudian slip?
