Let me say the only reason to by a BluRay player is if you have the TV for it. Just because its cheaper to buy the BluRay doesn't mean it comes first.
Secondly, the upscale on current DVDs using HDMI technology is astounding. It really is.
Last, you are probably not going to buy every film on BluRay. If you were, then you should have a player and TV already because its freakin' expensive. Pick and choose the movies you will own on BluRay. That way you can hold off on current movies, or buy those select few on BluRay now...if you want the new release sale price.
But I can tell you, you will still watch DVD and buy them. Its the smart thing to do. I've bought just as many releases on DVD as I have on BluRay since I bought into the format.
