I'll probably wait until my current equipment breaks... then I'll see which one is ahead in the high definition race. I am sad to say I think blu-ray has taken the lead... we'll see if it goes the way of vhs vs beta or if it wins the battle this time.

![]() It hasn't been 6 months sense I bought a 47" wide screen LCD flat panel wall mount TV... That was a big step up from my old 27" in the big box... And I'm pretty happy with it at the moment... I really don't even watch that much TV... I'm thinking that I'll wait till the new holographic TV projection system comes out before I upgrade again... ![]()

I'm with the rest of you. I'm not independently wealthy enough to replace my current system which works just fine. If I was I'd be behind Blu-ray and Sony all the way, but only because if they lost the war I could afford to replace the system and movie titles without issue. I'm a Sony lover hands down. By time they decide I might have enough tucked away for a nice TV/receiver/speaker system.

Wow, i'm pleased to see this started so much discussion!
![]() Anyway, I honestly just think it's too soon for me to upgrade. The prices for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs and players, plus have a good enough television to use them on...just makes them seem very unappealing to me in general right now. Also, I was never much of "quality" nut anyway. As long as the picture and sound quality are clear enough, I don't have much to complain about. |
