I've had some experience with this, and I'll try and help. It can be a myriad of factors, ranging from problems on their end, to problems on your end, most often it seems to be on your end. Try unhooking the power supply from the cable box for about 1 minute, then plug it back in and reset the box, that might help. Also check and make sure your cable connections are snug. If you continue having problems, contact customer service and see if they might be having some issues. If not, then you may either need a new box, or your lines may need to be replaced, but the line issue will have to be determined by a service tech.
My GF's Dad was having similar problems, and they replaced some of his lines, and it seems to have helped out quite a bit, but they still do have occasional outages like that. |

I had this problem for a short while too and it was because my box was a little bit messed up. They had me unplug the power cord, and leave it unplugged for a while. I forget how long for.
When I turned it back on it downloaded its software a fresh, and all was well when it finished. I was able to then start watching movies again. |

I'm not sure what you have, sittingstill, but OnDemand is free except for the premium stuff.
Oldmoviebuff, try what the other posters mentioned. I've been having similar issues so I noticed your post subject. After reading their answers, I checked the connections, one of which was rather loose. I tightened it up, unplugged the box for five minutes and restarted. Working like a charm so far. |

Also one last piece of advice that's helped me out in the past, is check the condition of your cables. Meaning, make sure they're not some cheapie .99 cent piece of junk that you may be using as an interconnect. My GF was having some issues on a box she had which also included a fuzzy signal, I noticed her one cable looked rather "cheap" and had a very thin jacketing around it. So we picked up a decent lower end Monster Cable one, and then the signal was better than ever! It truly was the "weak link" in the chain.
Now you don't have to use Monster Cable, just make sure it's a decent piece of cable. Or see if your cable company will provide you with a good line instead. ![]() |
