Default HDTV and HDMI connection

Its amazing to still see homes with thousand dollar HDTV's and then see connection to Starndard def and with archaic cables such as Composite or svid.

To see any benefit, you need to first have HD services. Once you see it, you won't regret it.

So far the best picture I have seen is with Blu Ray native movies at 1080P
Some of the HD sports are incredible as well.

My setup uses HD and I go to the next step of connecting with HDMI for an all digital connection.

HDTV ( Sony Bravi)
DIsh Network HD package
PS3
Apple TV. Not much HD content yet. but coming.
Media PC for viewing internet videos
HDMI switch for connecting all gear using HDMI.

*rolls eyes* most people buying big HDTVs can't really afford it and thus can't afford the cables either. I mean you drop $1500+ for a TV the least they should do is include the cables...

That's the newest thing. where the technology is so worthless that they give away the 'big ticket' items in order for you to buy the accessories. Try buying a printer nowadays. They don't include the USB cable anymore. Soon enough they'll stop including ink with them.

There are a lot of TVs including a short HDMI cable now. Our 50" Vizio plasma came with an HDMI cable.
