The God Delusion -- Richard Dawkins (excellent read by the way)
The Silent Speaker -- Rex Stout
The Brain of Morbius (Doctor Who) -- Terrence Dicks

Reading now:
The Second Confession -- Rext Stout
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd -- Agatha Christie (I've never read Christie before)
Evolution What the Fossils Say and Why it Matters -- Donald R. Prothero (just started this one no verdict yet)
The Ancestor's Tale -- Richard Dawkins (another one I've just started)
So are you an atheist or one of those "delusional" evolutionists. you know, If you've seen the documentary Expelled by Ben Stein (who is Jewish just to let you know) He interviewed Richard Dawkins and he believes that life started with aliens. If you don't believe me watch the movie. That part comes close to the end of the documentary which is also a terrific movie

I agree, i've read almost all seven, but, in my opinion, I think the first one,The Magician's Nephew, is the best one

Aliens as explanation isn't more fantastic to me than to believe in a god as a creator of life. Not saying i agree or believe the alien theory, but i wouldn't entirely refute it either. Simple reason being that we humans know nothing of the past before the written word came along. That is where belief takes over for most people. And as belief/faith is a personally attained conviction it is useless to bicker about it. I approach all questions in a philosophical way, and have no real faith or belief in anything... Everything is possible, but everything also lacks evidence strong enough to be labeled as a fact. Pick your way to handle life and possible afterlife or non-existence. But beware of fencing in your mind in a box.

A small glimpse on the universe with all it's billions of galaxies, trillions of stars etc etc etc. I think it's safe to say that everyones theory is plausible. What makes it hard to believe or form a faith in all this space, is that the options you have been presented with, has all come from man himself. And the little person seldom if ever questions unified systems of belief, what the masses thinks is usually what the lone person will agree on. It can't be wrong if everyone is citing the same thing, and preaching the same message can it ?..

Well everyone thought the world was flat at one point, and disagreeing people with other oppinions were said to be fools and not knowing what they were talking about. Being thought of as crazy loons and fools, are usuallt just the thing that scares people off from thinking outside the box... Yet it has been proven and proven and proven over and over again, that a unified belief has been thrown aside in favor of strong enough facts that pointed to an explanation that went against what the masses believed.

Don't cast aside explanations that just may hold some shred of possible reality. But don't fully embrace it either. You just have to keep in mind that you are on your own in handling the big questions of life. Whatever floats your boat is your thing.

I'm an atheist, don't know what a delusional evolutionist is, mate.

As for the alien idea, two things. One Dawkins does not like how he was sold the concept of the movie compared to what it turned out to be. Two the alien thing you're talking about is called Panspermia and it's an idea that's been around for a long time and was published as a theory by Crick and Orgel in the early 1970's. It is one of many hypotheses to explain how life began on Earth. In this case that the chemical elements necessary were brought here by meteorites. Neither Dawkins nor any other biologist is saying little green men came here to have sex.

Talking

I just thought I'd stop in and say that I could theorize a lot of different
possibilities as to the existence of man kind... And I can see many of
them as true possibilities... But that really silly one about the
talking snake, giants, unicorns, burning bushes that are
never consumed with that invisible God that is mean
as hell... Nope, I just can't buy in to that one...

I'm sorry jinzodude but I'm afraid it does...
Job 39:9-12: Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Canst thou bind the unicorn with band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee? Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him? Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?
Psalms 29:6: He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
Numbers 24:8: ...he hath as it were the strength of a unicorn

^^ LOL

It is enough just to take a short look at how disproportionally people around the world are being "blessed" at birth, with varying forms of deceases and afflictions to understand just how skewed reality has become for people who truly believes in all that goodness, fairness, equality etc that god supposedly is so generous with.

The whole god thing would have been alot more plausible in my head, if they haden't imbued him with infallacy and boundless goodness and love. All in contrast as i said to how inncocent children are being born with different outlooks on life... Midgets, gigantism, deceases that kills after a few months or years, severe handicaps. Dozens more or hundreds even depending on where in the world you live. Then we have inherent deceases caused by incest.

Too many faults in mankind, and it's always the new bournes that is punished or given the best genes regardless of the parents behaviour in almost all cases. As for the adults, apparently some are tested by god. And others seemingly go through life with great joy. Others are depressed, some commit suicide for many various reasons... Does that mean that the ones who are tested get a free ticket to heaven, and the others, well who knows ?.

Try and figure this shit out is all i'm saying. I leave it up to you, but to me nothing of it makes sense. Either there is something after life, or there isn't. Nobody knows, nobody has lived to tell. And a book written by other men supposedly based on the word of god holds absolutely no evidence of truth. I acknowledge it only as a means of comfort for some people who needs to fill a void in their lives.
