Default What comics do you read (if any)?

I'm not talking Family Circus, which sits at that bottom corner of the newspaper... Just waiting to suck...

I'm talking good old-fashioned funnybooks, be it superheros, indies, fantasy or even Millie The Model.

I used to be a big Spider-Man reader, until I basically burned out from the early-90s glut of gimmick covers and terrible storytelling. I since sold off my collection (going back to 1966) and paid 15 bucks for the entire run of Amazing Spider-Man on one DVD-Rom.

While avoiding comics for a long time, I recently visited a well-known comcis shop in Halifax and was pleasantly surprised to see that ZOMBIES are and have been the 'big thing' in a lot fo comics for the last couple of years.

My interest piqued, I'm now currently reading (via CD-Rom) the entire Marvel Comics' Marvel Zombies saga, wherein all of our favorite heros (and villians) become bloodthirsty gutmunchers.

It's quite gory, definitely for adult readers, but oddly funny at the same time. Very well-written.

I haven't read comics in a while... But there were once many indies I enjoyed, and also Manga.

I'm not "in to" zombies... so I'll skip that. I haven't been to the comic book store since I broke up with one of the co-owners.... er, yeah. I'm not wanted there anymore! LOL!

I have been reading Batman comics for 21 years. I was a young chap and had seen, in a used book store, Batman #426(if I remember right), where Robin gets killed. I have been reading ever since. Good old 1987. Crap, I cannot believe it has been that long.

This is why I can honestly say ALL Batman movies SUCK, except for Batman Begins. I hold it as the second best film ever made behind Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Wow Obi, we may be tied for going after the same comic that got us wanting more comics. I got the same thing you did but it was the trade paperback. To be more accurate, this comic got me wanting more super hero type comics. I had already been kinda glued to the almost good, but mostly sucky Star Wars comics Marvel was doing.

I have recently been getting back into comics, for the first time in years!

I have been reading a lot of Batman, Spiderman, X-Men, and just about a billion other series.

There is a store near me that sells comics for dirt cheap, so it's pretty easy to find some good comics to read.

I just bought the 8-issue run of Matt Wagner's Grendel: Behold The Devil off eBay.

Grendel dates back to the mid-1980s and after a 40-issue run it began to appear as occasional mini-series and one-shots.

I'm a huge Matt Wagner fan (he's done recent work on the Batman titles). I'm still waiting for his final Mage series, if he ever decides to make it.

I have read the entire 'Ultimate Spider-man' series. (To be fair, there isn't that many of them). I have tryed to start collecting the 'Ultimate Avengers' series, only got the first 2 though.

I also like to read the Bleach manga. :D

Those marvel zombie comics are crazy, I remember reading one where they all try and capture and kill the silver surfer for his power. Is that the right one?

You bet! And since the Silver Surfer is the herald of Galactus, those zombies get some good eatin' in.

I just read the 5-issue "Marvel Zombies VS. Army Of Darkness". Nice to see Bruce Campbell as Ash (in the comics at least), but the story was sorta weak. It filled in a few blanks as it's supposed to take place just as the initial zombification begins.

I love to read Archie Comics whenever I get my hands on them. I just can't get enough of the rivalry between the two girls. Jughead tickles my toes most of the time not to mention Reggie, you just got to love him.
