Default Where do you take your movie recommendations from?

When going to the cinema or even renting a DVD we do like to know a bit about the movie: maybe a nice review online (since we are so modern now), a review in a specialized magazine we read, our friends' recommendations etc.

Where do you take your movie recommendations from?

I ask my friends. Sometimes i read some very short impressions on the net and just search for the movie, but that happens rarely.
With my friends it's different. I ask more than one, i ask 5-6 people about the movie and only then search for it.. i'd hate to waste my time with a bad movie :D
Sometimes i even ask how it ends. I don't have a problem with spoilers and i need to know if it's worth watching D:

Flixray is one of them. And I also make it a point to listen to Z100 on Fridays. They always have a movie critic that day and so far, he hasn't been wrong.

When I see a movie advertise on TV that is what normally makes me want to go see it or rent it.

Normally my friends would tell of a movie that is good to watch. Then I would try to find a preview of it in the internet. While searching for that specific movie, I would check into other movie previews that would catch my interest. And that is how I get to know what is the next movie to watch.

I tend to rely on television trailers. I think that you can see if it’s good or not by just watching the trailer alone. If I’m too busy and haven’t watched a single trailer I would depend on my friend’s recommendation. I haven’t yet to consult a forum for this.

I was very lucky to have my father working at the cinema in our city. He's always been a movie buff and I get so many good recommendations from him .. I also read on the internet and guide myself by the "good actors rule" too. I have some favourite actors who usually appear in top movies. Such people don't quite appear in junk movies, so it's also another way for me to get a new good movie to see.

I get my recommendations from previews, friends, family, magazines, basically a lot of places. My own decision comes from what is says on the back of the cover. And of course, the main page of Flixray!

I have a couple friends from college who were IFM majors. They have been good friends because we have similar tastes in movies and life. If they say its good, I go see it or rent it. Never steered me wrong in the past...8 years.
