Default Cinema Advertising

How bad is the advertising at your local cinema?

Mine is about 10 minutes. I don't really mind, I guess if we didn't have them tickets would cost more.

Hmm.. i can't remember exactly but i know on dvd the movie lasts one hour and a half and at the cinema it 'lasts' 2 hours We do get out earlier a bit with 10-15 minutes, i guess it's because the cleaning ladies need time to clean the place ant the rest of the time is filled with commercials: products commercials, film commercials and the usual "please turn off your phones etc etc stuff.."

They usually last about 30 minutes before the movie starts with nothing after the movie ends. I don't mind because that way I can find a good seat and just relax and talk with my friends without being told ssshh! Because by the time the movie is starting we are talked out lol

I don't mind the upcoming trailers but I don't like sitting through the product ads or the trivia that they show at the very beginning.

I don't mind the adds at all. I often seem to run late, and I'm sure other people do too, so I'm happier missing 10 minutes of adverts than 10 minutes of movie.

Some of the adverts have been pretty good actually. Adverts for movies always look good on a big screen, which is what they're designed for, but some computer game adverts had cinematics that also looked great up there.

What I don't like is adverts at the start of a Dvd.

Honestly at my local place you have to be there right at the start of the show or else you risk your party being split up across the auditorium, which has happened to us in the past. And that was a time I had prepaid and reserved seats!

So it means sitting through all the junk. They certainly have a captive audience, and it can be up to 20 minutes.

I think its anywhere from 20-30 minutes but it depends how early you are seated too. I get there early enough to get a good seat, so I dont mind sitting there for 30, I have a blackberry to keep me entertained til the show starts.

It's not all that bad though. It is probably the best way to introduce upcoming movies to the general public, and some of them are funny.

Anyone remember the trailer for 'Brother Bear' with the talking moose?

The only thing I don't like about the upcoming movies that are shown as ads is that the best part of the movie has been shown on the ads and when I watch the whole movie, it is not as good as the ads that's been shown.

But regardless if the whole movie of a movie ad is not good, I don't mind watching them. At least I have time to prepare myself first before the movie is shown.
