Movie theatre popcorn.

Okay, besides being nasty, food dyed, butter flavoured, bad awful stuff for you (and yet somehow manages to taste good)... why is it everytime I eat it, like three weeks later a bit of kernel comes out when I floss? GROSS! I floss everyday, so it's not a hygiene issue, it's gotta be that cheap nasty popcorn. Never happens when I make Orville at home (on my stove the old fashioned way!)

Hey Mitch, "stick" to the Orville. The theatre stuff is made with coconut & palm oils and is about as greasy as an avocado. I use nothing but peanut oil with my Orville corn in a pan over the stove. I add nothing but popcorn salt and peeps think I'm working magic with secret ingredients to make it that good and light. LOL..

I have a "sagacious" suggestion: I was thinking that you ought to have a forum (or whatever) for old movies on the tube. With the interminable writers strike there has been little coming out in the way of NEW American made movies, and even less worth watching. Meanwhile TCM and others have been reviving some GREAT old movies going back to the forties and beyond. Usually when you see an old movie re-released to the TV genre it ends up being shown several times over the next few months on various channels. Movie popcorn rocks... Been lucky to avoid the month old rogue popcorn kernel thank goodness.

As for the thoughts on the old movies on the tube.... you mentioned the writer's strike - isn't that over now? I could have sworn I heard that it had finally ended, yet it was only a comment in passing and never heard any big formal announcement like I would have expected to encounter (of course, i have had my head in the sand a bit these past weeks, so entirely possible that I missed it). Is it over or still ongoing?

I don't really know what is up with the popcorn lately, its all super salty and I just cant deal with it. The nachos are just as bad and make me feel tons unhealthy after trying them too.

I love popcorn. But I think it's probably in the way they pop it in the movie theatres where there's less whole kernels. But that also means, you get those nasty hulls sticking between your teeth.
