Joker's real story

So I realized the Joker told a few stories about the scar on his face. I'm wondering if the stories he told were true or not in the comic book. Like when he said it was his dad that gave him the scar or when he said he did it to his wife.

I know! Personally, I think the story about his dad was true then he just flipped after it happened. But I found this on the internet. I guess neither of his stories were true....

Neither of those stories are true. There are numerous origin stories for the Joker. His scars just happened in the comic about a year or so ago.

And, as for that Dc link...that is his story, but again, there are many different versions of it that have been told by DC. My favorite being from the most popular Joker story called the Killing Joke.

Oh so he didn't always have that scar. That's interesting I thought it had always been there. He was pretty creepy in the Dark Knight. "Why so serious???"

I think the changing stories are just to prove his insanity.

A large problem with comics turned movies is the long history of some comics and the twists, turns and possible contradictions over the years. If you browse through the wiki article on the Joker you come to one mention of Batman using a batarang on him which causes the scarring, but who knows?

Seems like a good way to keep things interesting. Its got us all wondering now doesnt it? I always thought it was something that did happen in younger years and plaps thats why he went bonky.

I always thought it was more like two face always telling some random story and no one ever really knows the real one. You think this was done on purpose?
