The Dark Knight vs. Titanic

I could see most of my friends going to see dark knight before anything else, including the big sinking ship movie. And its not that history bores us but most want to see action and something unknown instead of real life suffering like that.

I agree that the genre thing has something to do with the Dark Knight not being at par with Titanic when it comes to garnering awards. But Dark Night is a lot fun to watch than Titanic and even better than the latest movies today.

The Titanic will withstand the storm caused by the Dark Knight. The Dark Knight is a huge hit for it's time and it will be around for a long time. But the Titanic is a classic just like some of the other old classics, Love Story and Gone With The Wind.

What the crap are you talking about? TITANIC compared to THE DARK KNGIHT? Maybe for chicks...but hands down, the story for THE DARK KNIGHT was much more compelling.

Titanic was a good movie I'll give you that, but it didn't compare to the action packed Dark Knight...
There were a couple of slow times in that Titanic movie where I thought I might get up and walk out in the lobby
to see if anything was going on out there... But The Dark Night movie kept me on the edge of my seat
clinching the arm rails the whole way through...

Sadly, TDK will not have a chance to break Titanic's record due to the fact that WBros. just canceled the re-release in January

I don't think The Dark Knight would've beat out Titanic anyway Obiwan...
I mean Titanic has a kind of historical value that appeals to the masses...
It is the kind of movie that anyone can go see and enjoy... Where as like
I doubt my mom or dad would care anything about seeing The Dark Knight...

I have to admit, I saw Titanic twice in the theaters and Dark Knight only once. But you know what, we never buy DVDs unless we think the movie is worth keeping. I wouldn't buy Titanic but we are looking forward to buying Dark Knight. So although Titanic may be more award-worthy, I think Dark Knight will be more of a legacy.
