Default scarlett sings tom waits

has anyone heard of scarlett johansson's new songs which are covers of old tom waits songs? i've read some bad reviews, but i kinda liked the one song i heard. her voice is very mellow. i'm not a huge scarlett fan for the most part, but i think i'd like to hear more of her songs.

anyone else have an opinion to share on it?

Her new album is to be released today, the 20th of May...
I don't know, I've heard that she has collaborated with the likes of the above mentioned
and David Bowie, who I have the utmost respect for... So I'll wait and see what she has to offer...
I mean is all I've seen of her singing is that one little karaoke thing...
But who knows, she might be good...

Thumbs down

I found this "Tom Waits-Falling Down" song that she sings...
And well I hope she does better with the rest of the album
because she sure butchers the crap out of this song...
If she can't sing any better than that, I don't want to
hear anymore... If I was Tom, I would be pissed that
she screwed up my song like that...

Seems like every other celebrity is taking up music as an extra income, and no wonder either. The teen fanbase is poised to buy whatever they produce no matter what the quality, or lack thereof. Pretty damn sad in my oppinion that art and music is being hollowed out and losing all it's soul for profit. Who ever it was that coined the phrase 'Money is the root to all evil' were 100% correct.

I just listened to one of the video clips and I was basically waiting for the singing to begin. Is it because she was singing along with a karoke machine?

i've heard the tom waits was very supportive of her. i don't know if he liked it or not, but he supported her doing it. probably to help promote him for his new tour he's doing this summer.

After giving this a little more thought, I think maybe I understand... I mean if she was hanging around my house and possibly cooking me breakfast from time to time... I might probably be supportive
of her crappy singing too...
