no way! that's so weird, i was just watching him last night in "don't be a menace to society while drinking your juice in the hood" (heh).

he wasn't one of my favorite comedians, but i did enjoy his work. sorry to hear he's gone.

This does seem so unbelievable! I hadn't heard yet until my best friend IM'd me about an hour ago. It is so sad because he was such a talent and was still young. I wonder if he has children?

I hate getting online and seeing stuff like this pop up in the news. It is tragic. It has happened to some great talent over the last 5 years. The one that has shocked me the most was John Ritter. It still gives me the creeps just thinking about it. Anybody can go at anytime. I feel for Mac's family.

Yeah, it's a huge shocker for everyone. He was so young too, only 50 I believe. I really enjoyed the small part he played in Transformers, that'll always be a standout for me. It does show how fragile the time we have really is.

Yes, I do believe so. Even thought I've never seen the movies myself that is.

OMG, how terrible! Was it viral pneumonia? It just seems like people shouldn't die from pneumonia anymore, but I guess it does still happen. How sad.

Layla, the reason he died is that he suffers from sarcoidosis-an autoimmune disease. It had previously damaged his lungs, so the pneumonia was able to take him out when it ought not to have.

Bernie Mac will definitely be missed. I enjoyed his comedy both on the stage and in film. My prayers and sympathy are extended to Bernie's family and friends.
