Default Autism awareness

My SIL sent me this link. She said the band Five for Fighting is donating 40 cents for every hit on the site. Whether that's tru or not, I don't know, but the video is powerful nonetheless, so I thought I'd share it here just in case the band is really donating money!

Good girl, this is worth mentioning here... If I understand it right, they are donating .49 cents to "Autism Speaks" everytime this video is viewed... Autism Speaks raises money for research into autism spectrum disorders including Aspergers syndrome... I think this is a very worthy cause, this problem effects a lot of children... If anyone has never heard of Autism, its "a disturbance in psychological development in which use of language, reaction to stimuli, interpretation of the world, and the formation of relationships are not fully established and follow unusual patterns" I didn't say that, I looked it up... But I do know that Aspergers syndrome is a psychological problem very similar to Autism...

So please click on the blue words "Five for Fighting" down here...

It is quite important, many people do not realize all the issues that go on with this, and also the stuff that goes on for the caregivers.

I've seen recently many campaigns against autism, and for parental awareness, cause it's a serious disease... I'm sorry there are more and more kids nowadays that have to fight it! The treatment is very expensive from what I know, and doesn't always work, it doesn't exist a sure cure for autism... I guess it's always best to prevent rather than treat. I've sent this link to my social network, thanks!

Cool thread - I love movements for a good cause. Looks like that video is getting a good amount of exposure... that's awesome!

I had no idea autism affect 1 in 150 children? That's some seriously scary odds there.
