Pagans, Witches, etc What do you think of this?

I'm religious, but I don't understand how religious people think they can propagate their beliefs by beheading non-believers.

To kill over suspicions and ignorance is not only idiotic, but absolutely terrible.

This isn't the first time I have heard of stories like this in modern times, nor do I expect it to be the last either

Well snookumsnort you know I kinda wonder where we would be if it was us... You know like us astronomers and philosophers, and people that thought a little different than everyone else [witches]... Well first off, we would not be burning you guys... Have you ever heard of a philosophers burning a Christian ??? Just because someone doesnt believe in god automaticly makes them Intelligent and better than everyone else Come on. Its pretty much Guarenteed if a Fanatical Christian was atheist He would of been a fanatcal atheist Its not the beliefs it the person.

Id liked to think Agnostics are Less Close minded as they do not Blindly devote their life To believing there is no power greater than life Or Blindly devote their life to believing that a greater power created and loves them
Whilst agnostic believe we may never know And frankly i dont fuckin care I have better shit to do than bother my self with god

Hehehe. Oh CC. This is probably the debate that will never end...whether there is a God. But based on this topic, I really think no one has any right to kill people based on beliefs. To think that one individual is better than another by virtue of their religious beliefs is ignorance. To think that violence towards non-believers (of any religion or non-religion for that matter) will solve anything is insanity.

Wow, you can really talk !!! I was beginning to think you were a one liner comedy robot... I knew if I Kept getting progressively ruder that I'd finally get a rise out of somebody... But never in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would be you... lol !!! And yes I am definitely a fanatical atheist... But it started out the other way around, or at least that was once my original intention... You see my father was the deacon of our church when I was a boy, he also taught Sunday school and much more... He was that Fanatical Christian that you mentioned... And I like most kids wanted to be like my father... And not just that, I also knew that I wanted my place in heaven, because I knew I didn't want to burn in hell for all eternity... So I had decided early on that God and his teachings were going to play a very big part in my life... So when I was a teenager I started reading the Bible... I read the old testament and new cover to cover, a lot of it I've read many times... If your going to spread the word, you need to know the word... And the Bible says Mark 16:15-16 "And he said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved,and he that does not believe shall be condemned". But the more I read and studied the Bible and where it came from, and the politics, and other religious books that surrounded it at that time... The more I became to realize what a bunch of hogwash it really is... More people have died in the name of this so called God than any other reason on this earth, you ever hear of the Holy Wars ??? That is basically fighting and killing one another over who has the better imaginary friend... If stopping this ignorance is not a just cause, I don't know a better one... And I'll step back on my high horse by saying that I am trying to do some good here... Where as an agnostic, which I think is just an atheist that is to lame to make a stand, or just don't care about the welfare of mankind enough to do anything...

Ok yeah I see what you are talking about... And of course the CopyCat has a opinion on the subject... I believe that a lot of these excessively violent movies are today playing a part in this problem... The "Saw' series comes to mind, where as these movies are fine for the average joe... I think when someone that already has mental problems watches a movie like that, it can send them over the edge... The media also plays a part... Like there use to be no such thing as a school shooting... Now its common place because kids see it on the news, and think I can be famous too... Or they see it and think thats a good idea... But I don't see this as being all that big of a problem... If you take all your Dennis Rader's, Jeffrey Dahmer's, David Berkowitz's, Jack the Ripper's, all the kids shooting up schools, hell all the serial killers over the last thousand years... We are talking about thousands of people that have been killed... But they are bad people, bad people will always be doing bad things... Fortunately most of the people of the world are good at heart... But there is still a problem, good people use religion to kill, and not just thousands, but millions of innocent people have died in the name of God... And thousands more die everyday in the name of this so called God... How many people have been burned at the steak for being witches in the name of God... Serial killer murders make up just a drop in the bucket in comparison to religious killing...

I think that this is another form of religious discrimination, and it is wrong. I don't condemn people who don't share the same race or gender as me, so I dont do it with religion. Also, most "witches" are like naturalists, using herbs and plants to help heal people.

Well you are one of the few that feel this way... I think that there is no one better than me on this whole planet... But by the same token, I try very hard to think that I am no better than anyone else... Even so, I still catch myself looking down my nose at some people sometimes... And it makes me very mad when I do... And I think these witches that you are talking about are what are called white witches... But I think that most of the people that were killed as witches in the past were not witches of any kind at all... They were merely people that maybe didn't go to church, or maybe people that stuck to themselves, and didn't socialize much... Or maybe they were someone that someone in the church didn't like... Because of the ramifications surrounding witchcraft at that time, I would say that there were a lot less practicing witches then than they are now... And the witches of today really don't seem to be much of a problem, they are just silly people playing silly childish games for the most part...
