Aren't the Teslas way behind the original production timelines?

Either way I'd love to be able to trade in my current car for a hybrid or purchase a biodiesel (or a diesel I could convert) but its just not in the cards at the moment so I commute with others where I can and find other creative ways to conserve money. Gas will reach $4/gal this summer if not higher and the only way to make it through is to have something in reserve for the expensive weeks.
