Default Dropping Gas Prices

I got this in my email and its worth a try..

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer, and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers.

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days !!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Keep it going

Wont work. Demand is greater than supply, and supply of petrol as it currently is wont be increased dramatically without letting some organic matter decompose under the earth for about a million years. People wont reduce their demand, and using the strategy outlined above, all that's likely to happen is that smaller companies run out of gas quickly, and while waiting for their next delivery the big companies charge whatever they like while everyone is forced to buy from them.

And besides that, it's not Exon and Mobil who set the prices, but the oil barons in the Middle East. So boycotting two companies will just risk their continued business, but won't do anything because there is only so far that they can reduce their prices before no longer making a profit.

You know this same email has been filtered through so many in-boxes its sick, and not just lately this has been going on since at least 2000 that I remember. If it didnt work then, it surely wont work now. Sorry to also bust your bubble but its true with the supply and demand.

If that person is a mathematician, I think he understands clearly what "supply and demand" principle is. I think the producers of oil in the Middle East are trying to hold the supply of gas which will lead to higher prices. When the prices are getting higher, they become richer. I guess if the US government will find other countries to import oil from, then the price of oil will decrease.

If you people want to see lower gas prices,
we'll first have to show the petroleum industry
that we don't need there gas... Once you start
seeing more electric cars on the road than gas,
you'll see gas prices under a dollar a gallon... The
gas giants are fighting to suppress the electric car
every way they can... But its coming, and they can't fight
it forever... There are electric cars out there right now that
go 200 miles on a 3 dollar charge and put out no gas emissions...
Once these cars are mass produced and are made affordable... Why
would anyone want a gas powered car... Yes the electric cars are on
there way and the gas giants are very scared at this point... Here are a
couple videos of the up and coming electric cars that are hitting the market...

Great point..
Now if we can all afford to get one of those cars then we will all be set...
I would LOVE to have one BUT my guess it that it will be WAY to costly for me or at least it will be for awhile.. LOL maybe in about 20 years I can pick up a used one LOL...
I buy all my cars used and try to pay cash for them.. IMO that is the best way to go...

That's really a great idea, electric cars replacing gas dependent cars. Something came up to me that maybe this is the reason why gas companies are raising the prices of oil. They have foreseen that electric cars would be the next transportation and their business will be gone. So they try to raise the price of oil as much as possible so that they could get the money they wanted in, lets say 10 or 20 years in just a year. Makes sense to me.
