That is too freaking funny. DH has recently become obsessed with something called steam punk. Its a really keen throw back to Victorian steam driven items. The idea is to take modern items, make them look retro, etc. He has always been obsessed with hybrid cars, biodeisel, and hydrogen cars. Last weekend he tells me all about the water powered cars one of the guys owns....and now you tell me your brother is doing the same. I have to say while it sounds insane the most likely reason its not huge yet is the danger of having hydrogen gas combusting, and the cost of mass producing such things. It is indeed a true possibility if he gets it right, lol.

![]() I don't think you people are understanding me and I don't mean to sound like a smart ass, or a know it all... I have been told more than once that I come across that way... I think that maybe I just spend a little more time on research and I try and look at things objectively... My brother is very intelligent and far more knowledgeable than myself on many subjects... But he is apt to get tunnel vision and not do the necessary research on his original goal... So now let me try and make myself perfectly clear [I'm not very good at this]... There is no such thing as making as much as 7 or 8 times the amount of power that you use... Never has been, never will be... We are talking about the laws of physics here, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction... You can't change that, its an impossabily... And purplefdu your dear hubby idea of a steam car is practical more practical in fact than my brothers hydrogen car , but you would have a car that weighted far to much and would be apt to explode in a collision... I personally think electric cars are the next step forward, watch and see if the CopyCat is right on this... I bet I am right because I have done my research and I know what is going on here...

Dude, CopyCat, are you me in an alternate universe? First the bikers.. now this. My brother is on the same kick; hydrogen cars. Though he tends to research things fairly thouroughly. He assures me it will work (nothing about increasing power, I don't know where he does his research). Then again, he's also convinced that income taxes are illegal and if you take the IRS to court you can get out of paying taxes on your wages, because they are a trade, not an earning or something like that. Who knows.

The perpetual motion machine and it's children that make more energy than they use have been a subject for suckers for as long as I can remember. They always say the genius inventors have all been bumped off by the oil companies. First time I heard about this was from my older brother who got some plans given to him from my Grandfather. Apparently the first prototype my Granddad heard of had picked up so much speed it flew apart. Of course my brother had the answer to that by building some kind of regulator. Funny he suddenly stopped talking about it and he's just as poor as I am now.

![]() I thought that I would give you guys an update on my little brothers hydrogen generator car... Well now it is a truck, he had some other problems that he needed to work out with his test car before he could use it... Like taxes, tags, inspection and I think it needs a new catalytic converter too... So he couldn't wait that long so he put this strange looking contraption that looks somewhat like a bomb in the bed of his truck... Well he called me last night all excited telling me that he has uped his gas mileage by over 25%... He said that he had drove it to and from work [a total of 50 miles] and got these results when he gased up... He supposedly went from 15.5 MPG to 21.5 MPG... He also said that it had run down his battery in the process, but he plans to get an alternator that puts out more juice... Well I can only think that there must be a flaw in his math or something at this point... Althought I would love to be proven wrong, I don't think so... We will see how this all plays out, I'll keep you updated... ![]() |
