Default Rocky Horror

Have you ever been to a Rocky Horror Picture Show? If you don't know what I'm talking about, then, no, you haven't.

Anyone? I haven't been in about 5 years, but I used to go ever Saturday night at midnight. Awesome. I usually dressed as Magenta.

Talking

I've been a time or two... Before you go you will need to round up some rice,
rubber gloves, a water pistol, some toast, a bell, some toilet paper,
confetti and a news paper for the rainstorm...
I think that is it, I'm I forgetting anything ???

I haven't been since college, as our local theater stopped doing the shows except one week in the summer when I am almost always not in town or busy working third shift

I miss my Rocky. TO compensate we have at least 5 copies of it between the two of us when we got married:two DVD, two VHS, and one taped from MTV VHS. We're small fans, lol.

Default My ex went at least once a year

Always at midnight, of course. He looked so ridiculous dressed up as a woman, you don't even know. He had the movie on tape and had me watch it with him once. I guess he thought I'd get into it, too, but I really never did.

I am desperately trying to figure out what the dickens you all are talking about. It should be obvious that I don't have the slightest clue but I get from CopyCat's photo amd what layla said, that it's an event to dress up a la Halloween. What is it all about?

Bruce I'll try and explain... If I miss anything, you guys feel free to add in I've only been a few times... The "Rocky Horror Picture Show" is a cult movie on the grandest scale... Everyone dresses up as one of the characters you see above, take your pick... You don't want to go if your not dressed up, I'll expain in a minute... OMG, I remember my first time and we were not dressed up... lol !!! You try and get there early because this is a social event, you'll want time to talk to the other peeps and size up your victims for the night... People tend to sit pretty close to anyone that is not dressed up... And when the movie starts the fun begains, people ad-libbing remarks in the movie and throwing things at different parts of the film... Like you throw rice at the beginning of the film at the wedding along with the peeps in the film... Its often times directed at the peeps that didn't wear a outfit... You use your water pistols when Brad and Janet get caught in a rainstorm... Everyone throws toilet paper when Dr. Scott walks in the lab and Brad yells GREAT SCOTT !!! [Scotts toilet paper of course] I think its Frank that proposes a toast at dinner when everybody throws toast... And then there is a part in one song that Frank sings "Did you hear a bell ring?", thats your cue to ring your little bell, big bell, cow bell or what ever you have with you... Theres a lot more, but you get the picture... Its a lot fun if you can go with group of cult members... You should try it sometime, but you might want to rent it first to kinda get up to speed because
you don't want to look like a virgin......

That sounds like something so way out and absolutely cracked up. Too funny. Is it a musical? I think I'm going to look up a show, even if it's just once, BUT I'm definitely not going alone.

Oh man, I haven't been to a RHPS in years. I used to love going, I did theatre in high school and college. I don't think they do them here anymore.

The best part of going is embarrassing the virgins. So watch out, Bruce.

The last time I went was to an anniversary showing back when I was in high school. I went as Magenta too, and it was just the most awesome night out. Seriously I have never experienced anything like it since.

I've been to one actual RHPS show, but usually I just held my own when I watched it by myself

did anyone ever see the somewhat sequel "shock treatment"? it's not as good as rocky of course, but there are some pretty great songs in it.
