Default Cheap ways to fix up a house to sell..

We are trying to do some repairs things to this house to make it sell better and faster....

I am TERRIBLE in this area...
Need some pointers of things to do to make this home sell faster...
Some of the things is outdated( like bathroom miror and vanity) both bathrooms....
Yesterday my daughter and I removed the texture ceiling in the living room because we have to repair a damaged spot from where it leaked..
AND I MESSED UP MY BIGSCREEN FROM DOING THIS,,,,, I AM SO MAD....

Anyways.... we plan on paining all the rooms that we can...

Yesterday also I SCAPED.. off all the ugly walpaper from the upstairs bathroom it took me all day long and my hands feel soar and swelled today...

We also are going to pressure wash the house...
Maybe put some lava rocks out by the walkway... I think thats what they are called... (red rocks)....

Can anyone else point out some things that I should do that would save us $$$$....

We need to save every penny that we can,,,,

Just like yesterday I was trying to save and messed up my TV...SOOOO now its going to cost me several 100s of dollars to fix my TV.... ( I am so upset)

One of the best things you can do won't cost any money at all. Declutter every room and put away most of the personal photos and such. Just decluttering will make the house seem bigger and square footage must be seen to pay off. Make sure you showcase any windows with great views as views also help sell a property. Keep the yard well maintained, too. Hope you sell quickly!

we are thinking about not putting it up forsale until we move... Because I want to make pretty sure that my husband can do his job and that his job is stable...Plus then the house will be all cleaned out,, Our home its a big house its over 2000 square foot... BUT we do have lots of stuff so I see what you are saying about declutter... I do need to get rid of alot of stuff..
Thanks for your help..
If you think of anything else let me know..
Thanks Again

Fresh paint on the ceilings and walls is always good... Any improvements you
make to your bathrooms is always good... Sparkling new faucets help, people
don't want to see old dingy leaky faucets... Just take a walk around your
house inside and out and look at it as if you were seeing it for the first
time... You'll see what needs to be done... Now get to work... lol !!!

Suggestion: Concentrate on the outside of the house. If you're inside the house is in order people often notice the outside more than the inside. Don't just make sure the lawn is cut. Plant flower beds and all to make the outside more attractive. Make sure the outside of the house looks in good repair.

The outside of the house looks better than the inside.. But we do plan on pressure washing the house at the end right before putting it up forsale..My front door and shutters does need to be painted BUT.. I don't know if hubby can get up there to take the ones up high off or not.. ( I have a 2 story house)..I bought shutters for the front of the house BUT again we didn't measure and guess what they are to big... we bought them like 4 years ago... we are starting to TRY and repair the damaged ceiling... ( gosh I hope that it will look ok) LOL we are all new at this...we have already got paint to paint the living room and kitchen and both bathrooms...
In all the other rooms there is paneling walls.. I guess that I will just leave them alone.. Once I painted paneling walls and it looked TERRIBLE...
I found out that there is a store close to me called Habit for Humanity.. They are only open 2 days a week from 9 to 12 so we plan on going there Saturday I am hoping to find a Vanity and mirors for both bathrooms...
Thanks everyone for all your help..
If you can think of anything else PLEASE let me know...
Thanks Cindy

He accepted the job offer.. BUT he has been ALOT sicker this last week.. I don't know I am VERY NERVOUS..
So yes he did accept the job... BUT he can not quit this job for 1 year OR we have to pay back all the moving expense.. (10,000) Due in 1 week or they take us to court and then we have to pay lawyer fees and court cost plus the 10,000...
He has not quit the last 2 jobs BUT got fired..
I am so nervous that he will get there and not be able to hold this job down...
BUT then again working may be good for him it would get him out of bed and get him doing stuff (which) I think is good for anyone..

What do you think?
