Default 16 pound tumor removed from girl's face

16-pound tumor removed from girl's face - Health care - MSNBC.com

i didn't see anyone else post this yet so i thought i should. the picture of that little girl just made my jaw drop, how could she live with that? didn't it just make her head really heavy? also she does not look 15, more like 9.

any thoughts?

Poor kid, its sad that they let it get that bad before they did something about it...
This kid will be disfigured for life, where as if something had been done when it was first
diagnosed, I don't think she would have been... The tumor has obviously been very
taxing on her small body if its 16 pounds and roughly a third of her body weight...
That means she maybe weighs around 60 lbs or now in the low 40s without the tumor...
I wish her the best...
I did find this short video about her below...

well they did say they're looking for donations to pay for the surgery, so the family probably couldn't afford to do anything about it this whole time. but it was going to be cutting off her airway soon, so it was a life or death situation that had to be done. but it really is too bad that they couldn't have taken donations sooner.

That poor little girl. I really wish they had been able to do something sooner. I can understand that poverty can lead people not to get things taken care of until it absolutely has to be done but her living with that for that long is awful. There are a lot of people with big hearts so I'm sure that there won't be too much trouble rounding up donations to pay for it all. Good luck to her.

This really ticks me off !!! If Canada can have a publicly funded health care
system, why can't the rest of the world follow suit... I don't think anyone
should be refused health care because they don't have the money...
