Laving the Theater Late at Night

We normally go to the last movie of the night, based on our schedules. A couple months ago a woman was sexually assaulted in the parking lot. We never see anyone on our way out normally and call the office number to get a soda refill. When we talked to the theater manager and district manager they seemed to feel it was mall security's job to keep their patrons safe and not theirs to be seen and available. What gives?

Oh wow, that's insane. It's seems like everything that once used to be safe in not anymore. I think it should be brought to the attention of the theater, speacially after hours after the mall is closed and the mall security is long gone.

If you must go alone to the movies, I would recommend never taking in the latest showing. Women often fail to take into account things like staying in the lit areas, staying around other people and paying attention to their surroundings. Unfortunately, too many think it will never happen to them and they let their guard down.
