Absolutely, but Obama campaigned for the job. He asked for this mess. You shouldn't feel sorry for him. There were countless other candidates who would have loved to inherit this mess.

The stock market is future indicator.
When they saw Obama coming with big taxes people bail.
When Obama and company were pushing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac which Bush opposed that is what cause the housing market to crash.

Now people are upset with all the pork Obama has in this package you can't put that on Bush that is all Democrat and that is why there is stink over this bill.

I think that Clinton handed Bush one helluva mess also. Economic bubble about to burst (dotcoms), unchecked terrorism (USS Cole, Embassy Bombings) and a lessened respect for the office of the president. The terrorists seem to have handed Bush a little extra too. Do you remember any of this or is your brain too tired from yelling, "yes we can!"?

It's a horrendous shytpile of a mess, and anyone but the most partisan hack can admit it. President Obama will spend most of his first term trying to unravel it. Which is a shame because some of his best ideas will have to go on the back burner while he sorts it out. I voted for Hillary in the primary because I knew she had the chops to handle it. I voted for Obama in the general because I believe he is far more equipped to do so than McCain. So far I'm encouraged by Obama's calm approach, quiet strength and his penchant for hearing all opinions whether he agrees with them or not. He made good choices for his Cabinet, though his vetting team needs an overhaul. If he leads us out of this incredible mess he will indeed end up as one of our greatest Presidents. We should all hope that will be the case, instead of some who selfishly want him to fail so they can say I told you so like a bunch of third graders.
