Default George Lucas a Sellout

I used to adore George Lucas. I mean the man brought us Star Wars. But lately it seems he's all about getting in the last couple million bucks before he's not around to enjoy it. I still appreciate everything he's given to the film and entertainment industry but not as much as I used to.

He ought to be able to cash in after having given everything that he has in my humble oppinion. I know i would do the same if i made a career like that, it's a nice and naive fantasy to imagine people doing their thing and not be in it for the money, but i think you reach a point where you realize that the industry is making all the money, while you do all the work.

Oh ain't that the truth... although I'm sure his work has afforded him quite a lifestyle through the years... but yeah I'm with you.

You call George Lucas a sellout, as if it was something even close to being a recent turn of events.

Hate to break it to you, but he's been a sellout for well over a decade now, and arguably longer than that...depending on whom you ask.

The new Indy Jones was still pretty good though.

Naw, George being a sellout would be more along the lines of selling all his holdings to Disney. It could still happen, probably after he's dead but he won't be to blame, it'll be whoever has the keys at that point.

He already kinda sorta did a teeny bit. Pixar came from one of his animation holdings.

He landed on my poo list once episode 1 came out. He was OBVIOUSLY a sell out then, I mean, half the scenes were geared towards the inevitable video games.

Now he's making a video game movie in the Clone Wars. Eh, the animation doesn't impress me, but being the geek I am, I'll have to see it.

He could still make the arrangements to prevent his holdings from ever being sold to Disney...its not too late. And I agree, he's been a sell-out for some time but its really ramping up on a large scale after a long stagnant era of the same few things being available. New toys, Clone Wars, etc. I mean Target has whole sets of dollar bin crap with Star Wars on it.

Well... I like a lot of the Star Wars books and toys, but the prequel trilogy really ticked me off big time.

While it may not be the biggest crime to ever happen to humanity, they were still very disappointing films next to the originals.
