I think Michael Moore is awesome. I may not agree with everything he says, but at least he's trying to share some of the lesser known things going on. If they only just spark thoughts in people, a little more research, he's doing a good thing. I can see why people don't like him, and it's the inherent flaw: people who need to see his movies, won't.

I don't really think his intention is to be obnoxious unless you are the person hiding things from the public, are you? :D Its one way to get his point across and get some type of feedback, you know that man has gotten more replies than most others trying to do what he does.

I totally agree with what others have said: he certainly gets his point across and gets feedback. I haven't seen all his movies, but I have seen Farenheit 911 and Sicko. I was very impressed with Sicko, I don't see how anyone could say it was bubkiss, even not liking the man, it's something that effects us all. Farenheit 911 I could see the contention, though I tend to agree with him. But I'm also with Rosie O'Donnell on the subject, so that's that.

Wasn't Bowling for Columbine his too? I can't say he's a favorite but his movies are thought-provoking. I never really saw him as a trouble-maker. While writers might express their opinions through editorials or the news, he expresses himself through movies. If his interviewees have nothing to hide, then they wouldn't be evading the questions, would they? I haven't seen Sicko. But based on what you guys said, I might just take a look at it.
