Am I the only one that still loves chess and the old games? I cant help it, I need a mix. Games on the computer are good but sometimes I just want to be old and game the old way.

I do like chess, but its hard to find anyone to play... I was on the chess team in school for a short time, and my best friend at the time was the captain of that team... So we played a lot then, so consequently I know a lot of the good opening moves and a lot of the calter moves by heart... I'm really not very good, but to amachure player I'm like a chess god I guess... And playing some one online sucks because you never know if the other guy is using a computer or not... And I can't beat a computer, not on hard anyway...

I am a checkers addict. We have a happy bunny set we bought for $2 on sale. Its not quite as much fun as a regular game, but it does the trick. I learned chess in middle school but it was so long ago I don't recall any of it anymore. I was decent, but didn't have the time to devote to scouts, riding, and chess.

Pop 5 is my newest favorite game. It is so fun but you need to play it with 4 people. It is like pictionary, cranium, trivial pursuit, and charades all in one.

We love to play board games. Our favorites are Carcasonne, Settler's of Catan, and Bohnanza. We also play chess, but we don't play many of the more mainstream American games.

So you live in British Columbia, I'm guessing here... I was never good at geography... I live in North Carolina in the US and I've played that Settler's of Catan game a few times... That is the one where your on an island and you build towns, and cities... And you try and build your roads so the other players can't get to food and water and stuff...
But I've never even heard of those other 2...

Oh i'll have to check this one out - i love pictionary, cranium, trivial pursuit etc.... so it sounds like it should be fun!

I also like the standards like boggle, rummikub, risk, racko, yahtzee etc.

I just need to find more friends that like to play board games!

First you guess I live in the UK, then in BC. REally, I swear, I'm American. I just have ecclectic tastes, that's all! I live in Washington State (for now... soon to be relocating to Iowa).

IOWA! Where abouts? Thats where I was born and raised (in the Quad Cities) and am actually looking to move back to Illinois (in the QC area).
