Default Do you wait for a price drop before buying a game?

Almost all games released these days sell for $50 or even $60 or $70 dollars when they are released these days, which sure is not a cheap or attractive price to many folks.

So, what do you do about it? Do you just bite the bullet and pay the high price, or do you wait for a price drop?

Speaking for myself, it really depends on how much I was looking forward to that particular game. Unless it was something I have spent a year waiting for, I will probably go for the price drop.

i usually just buy used games. occasionally i'll go to best buy and pick something up, but unless it's a sims game that i have the money for i have to limit the price to $20.

I never pay more than $20 for a game. Sometimes it kills me to wait that long, but everything eventually goes down to $20 or under if you have patience. I've nabbed a couple quicker with sales and promotions though.

If I can get a deal then I will try for it but sometimes I am just really impatient like a kid. I don't try to spend a ton but every now and then maybe once a year I will splurge a little.

I paid full-price for GTA IV, but for the most part I try to find 'em used or just play the waiting game. Lego Indiana Jones, while I'm sure is loads of fun, is not worth $50 to me.

I like to buy games new, although I have found myself buying preowned games recently.

I just like to think that with it being new, I'll get more out of it I like to try and keep the boxes/packaging clean and crisp. With them being preowned, I find that there is a lot of people who do the total opposite and couldn't care less what happens to their games.

Most reputable used-games sellers won't buy or sell games that have the crap beaten out of them for the most part. I've been lucky so far.

BTW - Welcome to the forum!

I've seen a fair few games in shops that have all sorts of stains and marks on the box/cover. The shops around here are just money grabbers I guess :P

Thank you :D
