Default Not a gamer?!!

Am I one of the few people in the world who can't be faffed with this gaming phenomenon?

When we first got a computer in '98 we got a few games with it - they were on floppy disc which you then had to load using all sorts of baffling code! Don't ask me what they were - I have no idea! My friend, who was a computer buff (a female geek was rare in those days, and probably is even now) had a tiny Sinclair computer which looked much like an adding machine you get in an office -the kind with the roll of paper coming out - and she would play games on her tiny Sinclair computer after she'd set up the composites. (I have no idea what that means either ) If I remember right, she used her tv screen for the graphics.

Anyway, in those days gaming was obviously hard work so that's probably why I never took to it.

What exactly am I missing?

I love games from several views.

First and foremost it keep reaction times at an amazing rate. I have been playing games for about 25 years and this has been a great outcome of playing games. It keeps you sharp.

Also love them because of the problem solving factor. This happens in all games whether you realize it or not. You are using your brain. I like feeling like I accomplished something.

It's a great way to pass the time and they are fun as hell

Know what I really miss? Those old timey stand up arcade games. One or two buttons and a joystick was all ya needed. Occasionally I'll remember a favorite game or two and go hunting for it online - see if people are auctioning off any. There's actually quite a few, but the money is pretty rough, not to mention space concerns.
