Mega Man 9

[The Master Chief]

I don't know if you have heard or not yet, but Capcom has recently released Mega Man 9 as a downloadable game through services like Virtual Console, Xbox Live, and PSN. The game is seriously retro in every since of the word, right down to recycling Mega Man's old NES sprites. Has anyone played this game yet, and what are your thoughts on it?

I am a Mega Man freak and purchased this the day it was released off the PSN. I love the game but my only gripe about it is none of the weapons you win from the robots work on other robots. I really found that odd, but the good thing is every robot does have a pattern and they can be defeated just with the canon. The weapons are used more for getting through the stages rather than defeating the bosses. I have 2 more robots to go before I get to Wily's fortress. I hear that stage is rediculously hard.

I do not have the game yet myself, but some people are telling me Mega Man 9 is the hardest game in the series since the original game back in 1987. Considering that special weapons don't even work on the bosses, it may be even harder. Anyway, I will get this game as soon as possible. Too bad it wasn't released on a CD or DVD though
