Default How do you rent out movies?

Netflix or Blockbuster? Which one is better? Or do you rent through a "vending" machine? We used to subscribe to Netflix but found their $9.99 package to be very slow. From the time you mail the DVD, it takes about a week before you get a new one. They used to have faster turnaround time and I don't know why it slowed down. What do you guys use?

We normally go to a good old brick and mortar store to rent. We've though about Netflix, but since we live near a major hub it only takes days to get movies. We've thought about renting from the Redbox at the grocers but it seems kind of...weird.

We have rental stores, but they are not all over town. They are quite a few and not every neighborhood has one. I guess it's not such a profitable business around here.. They are not expensive, it's really cheap to rent one.
They have all kinds of movies and they are ok.
I don't know the name of them, i just call them "video rental stores" :D

We used to use Blockbuster online because you can have 3 dvds mailed to you at a time and then you can take the rentals into the store and exchange them for new releases for no charge. It was nice because with b.buster you can't always get the new releases in the mail as quickly as you would have liked.

My family used to be member at Blockbuster, before they had it online. It sucked. The local store never had any good movies in stock. We'd seen them all. The store was understaffed because the manager was an ass and treated them like crap in front of costumers so they quit.

We got Netflix about a year and a half ago. We love it. We have the 3 at a time unlimited plan. I think that is around 18 a month. The first month was a free trial. Depending on how busy we are and how fast we can watch the movie, we'll easily rent 6 - 12 movies a month. So for 18 bucks, it's a great deal. We haven't really had an issue with how long it takes to get movies back. All in all it takes a few days involving sending it out, them receiving and send the next one. Maybe 3 days or so.

<3 Netflix.

I still tend to use the local Blockbuster store, though I admit that lately it is suffering from the problem you describe; nothing decent in, only old stuff.

I guess it's time to try an online service. The problem with Netflix may simply be that they learned they were not making any money so had to slow down, or buy less copies of certain movies.

I was tired of dealing with the local store years ago for lack of real customer service. I dont think I have stepped foot inside one in over three years if not longer.

I rent out all my movies from my neighbors. They have a wide selection of movies and our area doesn't have any laws against them doing it. They have a weekend special where we can get 2 for 5 dollars which I like

I actually used Netflix when they very very first came out... but by the 2nd time they claimed they didn't receive one of my returns (both times they were most definitely mailed back).. i started getting nervous that i was going to end up paying for movies that they misplaced or got lost in transit, so i quit.
