Have you ever bought or seen DVD's of very old movies like Gone With The Wind or Lawrence of Arabia. I did see Gone With The Wind in a DVD set and it has 2 CD's. It was very long movie, almost 4 hours. The quality is good, I mean the picture are ok and the sound are clear but I could not compare it when shown in a cinema because they won't show that movie on theaters anymore.
We have 'The King and I' on DVD. I sometimes see them for sale in bargin bins for reasonable prices. They tend to come out in runs, then you wont see them for a while.
That is a rather long movie to watch. Anytime I have seen it I need to do so in two settings as I just cant handle sitting for that long, hurts the old back too much.
Yes, I have a fair collection of black and whites on DVD, including It's a wonderful Life, Harvey, and a bunch of the Hitchcock movies. I just love the Birds!
