How can I put DVD movies on my 80g iPod Classic?

Does anyone know how to put DVD movies onto iTunes to sync onto iPod Classics? Any free software I can download?
My computer is Windows XP and I have dial-up connection if that helps.

the songs that are uploaded onto your ipod come from a playlist and whatever playlist they come from you have to put the dvd into your computer and press import on itunes and then move the dvd to the playllist that you get your songs from
