i don't do it, but i get mad when i already own a dvd and they release a "special edition" that has special features that we not included on the one i already own.
no, i'm not giving them any more money have i already have, but i will shake my fist in fury at the cover of the new box. <--- kinda like him |

I'm trying to think of what special features would be *so special* that I would fork out the money to buy another copy. Frankly, I have a hard enough time forking out money for the first copy.
So no, I'm thinking you're not in the minority on that one, you simply have friends who are high rollers. ![]() |

There are times when I will buy multiple copies of the same film, but only when I have a legitimate reason for it.
Key deciding factors are super low prices, how rare the film is, and I think that I could re-sell any extra copies for more than I paid for them. |

I have done so once but it was more by accident than anything else. I'd ordered this trilogy and it got 'lost' in the mail. When I complained, they sent me another copy - and then the first one finally arrived. I advised the vendor, paid for the extra copy and gave it to a friend as a gift.

No, I have never done this nor would I. If I really want to see it, I'd see if a friend had it that I could borrow, or else if it was at the store or library. But I don't see the point in owning more than one copy-especially since the special features are generally a watch once only event!

Today I just bought the 1978 Superman - The Movie on Blu-Ray.
That means I've owned it: - On video - On laserdisc - On the first 4-disc box set - On the latest 13-disc box set - On Blu-Ray Now ask me how many different verisons of Star Wars I own... |

See now, that's where I'm back to getting angry on the one-sidedness of this whole copyright issue. Once you pay for a movie, you should be allowed to legally download a copy in an up-to-date format once an older format has become defunct without having to repurchase it. I don't feel it is fair for movie companies to get to double, triple, quadruple dip into consumers pockets when the issues of technologies are beyond our control. |
