Blue Lagoon

This is a very old movie, but it is one of my all time favorites, I watched it first when I was a young teenager and it really captured my heart. What do you think about this movie?

I saw that movie when it just came out, I really enjoyed it. Have you seen the part 2 version of it, that wasn't as great as the original but it was relatively ok.

I liked the Blue Lagoon. It combined the innocence of youth and the human spirit of survival. I believe this was one of the first, if not the first, Brooke Shield's movie.

Yes, it was one of her earliest movies, but just not the first. Blue Lagoon was 1980, but in '78 she had a very controversial role in Pretty Baby starring Susan Sarandon. Brooke played the role of Violet, a child prostitute, and I think that role got the buzz flowing around Brooke Shields. That and her famous Guess Jeans ads (I believe that was the brand), either that or Calvin Klein, and other photo shoots.

I had never heard of Pretty Baby. I may have to check it out as I enjoyed Brooke Shields earlier movies. I can understand why it would have been such a controversial movie at the time of its release.
