When movies are broadcast in high definition, is this in any way related to the HD DVD movie format or do they just share the same name and nothing more? Sorry, I'm having a brain burp.

Well yes movies that are broadcast in high definition are in the same format as HD DVD movies...
But of course you have to have a TV that is capable of processing the HD signal...
