While I appreciate your clarity of thought and well-composed religious rhetoric, at the the end of the day this forum is primarily about movies and DVDs. Nobody here will be joining the fold unless they are already predispositioned to do so.

That being said (with no offense) I would like to ask you to put aside the theological and join our ongoing discussions about about current cinema.

Obviously there is some dissention towards your views of religion, but you also seem to have a fairly good knack for argument. We need people like you to help better our understanding of film in general.

Let's call a quasi-truce, shall we?

Stubblecat, you are quite right. I'm wasting my time in an argument with friends that started in another forum. It was only because Mitch (I believe in an eMail) had laughed unbelievingly when I mentioned Christian persecution in this country, that I initially came on this site to point out the movie "EXPELLED." Then the "fun" began. As I have had only a few people encourage me by personal message to continue, unless I am asked by eMail, I'll not trouble to return to this site. I was brought up in a more courteous time; thus few of todays movies interest me much anyway. Particularly as I try to limit my trash ingestion to a modicum.

Initially I argued with increasing futility from a Christian standpoint as after all the movie is really about persecuting Christians for refusing to teach evolution.

As there had been no contributions to the site for awhile I went about my business. When I returned after an absence I read one of Mitches exchanges indicating that I had given up because they had apparently overwhelmed me with their sterling logic. Like a sucker (without legs) I took the bait but, I doubt much was accomplished as

there's none so deaf as those who will not hear nor those so blind they will not see.

Guesses backed up by facts and science???? This oxymoron made me realize that he really didn't know anything about Darwinism. Then he went on to say "

" He doesn't realize that reputable scientists don't use carbon 14 dating anymore as it is fraught with errors. Besides which they have NEVER used carbon 14 for checking the age of anything beyond a few thousands of years. "

All of our museums are slap full of dinosaur bones, but I've yet to see any bones from unicorns, giants, angels, or dragons.

I'd explained several times that the word dinosaur wasn't even invented until 1840, and yet he is still can't understand why the bible which predates the word dinosaur, used dragons, behemoth, unicorns and other words describing the same thing. By the way, of the various descriptions of unicorns in the old testament there are several references to their horn[S] being plural. Whoever the artist was that drew the first 'single horned' unicorn, didn't know anything about the Bible. This should have brought me back to the aforementioned realization that

there's none so deaf as those who will not hear nor those so blind they will not see.

As to the dinosaur bones, very few come with a birth certificate, and as none of the various radiation dating methods are capable of measuring bones millions of years old they use the strata in which the fossils are found. Oh by the way, as the layer of strata is used to date the bones the bones are used to date the strata. That isn't science that is circular reasoning.

Then Mitch, without answering a single question regarding a single one of my scientific objections, or giving me a single scientific reference asked me cryptically

I'm not evading you, I still have no idea what your question is.

I'll tell you what, as this is my parting shot I'll leave you with a question to think about. How about those 17 year Cicadas? You know the ones that come out of the ground by the millions all at the same time every 17 years, just to mate and die. How did they ever evolve? eMail me with the scientific facts would you?

Karl, you've missed what the movie EXPELLED is all about. It's about the fact that it is actually becoming against the law in the US to question Darwinism at the hazard of losing your job or worse. That isn't science that's stupid!

Either i did miss that people have been silenced by fear from raising questions about that. If so, i state here and now that it is of course wrong. And though i am not a religious person, i would still side with them in this question. Everyone should be able to speak their minds without repurcussion. Best thing would just be if people didn't state that any theory or belief is to be taken as facts. What truth is should be left to peoples judgement. The state will always taboo-label questions that they want to push forward, and there are many things you shouldnt have oppinions about, just silently accept.

And you never mentioned how things went with the chorus. I take it, it went without hickups ?
