Default Speed Racer

Anyone else kind of concerned about this being a live action with CGI type movie instead of the classic cartoon or all CGI? I really liked the show as a kid and have plans to go see the movie, but I hope its not another sad attempt at reliving the past.

On a vaguely connected side note, the cereal bowl from the cereal box looks cute. Is it sad I bought cereal just for the toy as an adult?

I don't remember watching Speed Racer. I heard it was even before Voltes V (if anybody else saw that). The movie with all its CGI does look interesting though.

Spiderpig, it IS sad that you bought the cereal just for the toy. You should have the cereal, it's good for you. You have company though, I have done the same thing at various times in the past.

Re Speed Racer - I never saw it before, but you have stirred my interest now.

Cool

So did the cereal bowl have a picture of the car on it or what ???
I need to know details before I make my decision as to
whether it was sad or not... I play with toys too...

I was never a huge fan of the cartoon, but I'm excited to take my two boys (ages 6 and 8) to see it this weekend. The CGI aspect looks kinda cool and hopefully it will be a fast-paced, action-packed family movie.
