Default Is it just me or are sick guys usually wimpy?

All my colleagues complain about sick husbands. Personally, they are the biggest babies when they're sick. My husband has been lying in bed for the whole day now with a temp of...TA DAAAA...99.8. I had to take over his laundry duties, which I let slide. But I have to bring him his medicine, give him his water, and wet washcloth to help him feel better. I mean, what is the big deal about getting up and drinking your own medicine? I even can't believe how he fights for my attention with my 2- and 1-year olds. It's almost bordering on ridiculous.

Alright, I just had to get this off my chest. It's back to grabbing his medicine for him again.

I don't know about you, but when my boyfriends sick,
I love being there by his side, helping him in any way I can.
I might just be a clingy girlfriend, I'm not sure,
but I like him knowing I'm there.

Then again; I've only dated the guy about a year.
I'm sure if I was married, it'd get annoying being
there for him all the time. And if he faught for attention over our kids?
I think that'd just make me laugh. It's kinda cute; to me, anyway.

Boys can't help but be boys, they need us ladies.

If I told you how little I've been sick in my life you probably wouldn't
believe me, so my not going to bother... But its pretty rare, it seems
to run in my family... But there is a down side, most of us drop dead
before the age of 70... And when I am sick, I try my best to ignore it...
I mean I find that if I go on to work and pretend its not happening I
feel better than I would if I'd laid on my butt in bed all day thinking about
how bad I feel... But then on the other hand, if I feel like I can weasel
some affections out of one of you pretty girls, then I'll be on the phone calling...

Hey girl I'm sick, I need a naked nurse over here stat...

Yes, my husband turns into a big baby when he gets sick. And yes, I do wait on him hand and foot because if I don't he tells me I am being unsympathetic and mean!

Ah Rachel, it is a sign of the age of the relationship. I remember when my husband was sick the first time while we were dating, we'd only been together a few months, and he had a throat abcess. I felt like Florence Frickin Nightengale. Sat by his side, made homemade chicken soup, brought him movies and medicine, took him to the doctor.

7 years and 2 kids later he's lucky if he gets a cup o' noodles for his ailing. Not really that bad, but if he's sick I try to just take the kids out of the house so he can rest in peace, and that's about the best he's getting from me (and really, when I'm sick, that's all I want! Just take the kids away so I can sleep!!!)

hahaha... I do think guys can be real babies when they are sick... but then, so can I for that matter. It's kind of nice to be a little pampered and cared for when you are under the weather. Sometimes I just think that street doesn't necessarily go both ways... maybe that why it's hitting a nerve?

My dad turns into a big teddy bear when he's sick. My mom mothers him and he just laps it up. I don't think he would be quite as bad if she wasn't encouraging him.

I don't know if this is entire the fault of us men. I think you ladies train us for this. Back in my college days I got a busted nose playing basketball. As far as my college social life went, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. The co-eds were taking real good care of me and I was flying high on painkillers to boot. Cast came off and I resumed being a nobody. Ladies, guys learn from this.
