You could just run them all over. Just make sure you remove any spandex remnants from your bumper. Problem solved.

I almost never wear spandex and I'm not terribly fast. I'm not fast because of my build. Look at pro cyclists they are all little wiry guys. I'm six five and two hundred and ten pounds. I catch a lot of wind. Other cyclists look down their noses at me because I don't have the look. They go into shock when they find out my old touring bike has 20,000 miles on it. I have been considering writing an article on road etiquette for cyclists but most cycling magazines are so focused on racing I'm afraid I may have some trouble finding a publisher. Only cycling magazine I really thought spoke to me went belly up almost 25 years ago.

Well I was never a very fast rider myself being 6 foot tall... I did ride a racing bike but only because you get the most travel out of the least effort, you know kinda like a economy car... But that summer I rode to and from work everyday weather permitting, it was a 15 mile ride one way... We had showers at work so I'd leave for work an hour and 10 minutes early... And then I'd ride on the weekends too, but I eventually developed a weight problem... I just couldn't eat enough to keep weight on, I got down to 165 lbs... I look like skin stretched over a skeleton... I felt great, but I looked like a zombie... So I cut back and then I had the spill and then I pretty much quit riding altogether... But I was never part of the cycling culture anyway... About as close as I came was reading the magazines and drooling over the new bikes and component groups...

Cat "old man," I LOVE bicycles. However, I live in the country where we get groups of cyclists blocking the road exactly as you describe. >THOSE< I HATE! Unfortunately cyclists are supposed to follow the same laws as cars, but there is no provision for them to do so. We need bike trails desperately, or at least bike lanes. I think it's stupid for bikes 'IN THE COUNTRY' to be required to stay to the right with their back to traffic. Helmet mirrors are worthless, and in order for a cyclist to see a car coming, the mirror must be mounted on the left-hand handlebar. This is of course is the side where the kickstand is mounted, so when the bike falls it destroys a ridiculously expensive mirror EVERY @#$%%$# TIME! A few years back I was legally riding down the right side a busy highway shoulder when an elderly lady came at me on a bicycle riding on the wrong side yelled at me "You're riding on the wrong side of the road." I mumbled under my breath "you are absolutely right." Now I travel the left side of the road the same as pedestrians. I'm MUCH safer, and since I moved the mirror to the right side I haven't broken a mirror since. It's idiotic to have automobile laws apply to bicycles which are nothing but pedestrians on wheels.

ZOMG !!!
Bob please get your senile old butt back on the right side of the road... Its bad enough having to deal with bicyclists... We certainly don't need you guys traveling in both directions in our lane... Just what do you do when you see a car and a bicycle coming at you at the same time ??? Just keep going straight on and let those young whipper snappers sort it out I bet... There is a reason for riding on the right side of the road Bob... If your riding at 20 MPH and a truck hits you doing 35 MPH, that is a survivable 15 MPH collision... Where as if you are riding into head on traffic in the same speed situation you have 55 MPH head on collision, not survivable... Bob park that old Schwinn and get yourself a golf cart... I find it much less stressful coming up behind someone on a golf cart than I do
seeing some crazy @x/# barreling at me head on, on a bicycle...
Geec !!!

P.S. Good thing you took down your profile picture, I was going
to photo chop your head on some funny bicyclists pic...

P.S.S. I laughed at the 16 Signs That You Are Having A [Cat]astrophic Day email you sent me...

CCat old boy I have no idea what profile picture you're talking about. I haven't changed anything and everything appears to be still in place including your usual kitty krankiness.

But I do have a copy of it now for future uses...
I now just think of where to use it...

Interesting note. Cyclists being rear ended by cars is one of the rarest accidents a cyclists can have. Personally I can't stand handlebar mounted mirrors because passing cars will pass closer to you when they know you can see them. I've personally tested that one for hundreds of miles. I prefer the little mirrors mounted on my sunglasses or the little helmet mounted ones. They take getting used to but they let you see just as much if you aren't bobbing your fool head all over the place. Riding like a pedestrian on the wrong side of the road against traffic is dangerous. Someday some left hand turning vehicle is going to flatten you because they won't see you till it's too late. That is not an uncommon accident for cyclists. How do you handle being chased off the pavement by most of the cars you face?

With Alacrity you ought to listen to Iceman. If you're riding on the wrong side of the road even at a moderately busy intersection and someone is making a left hand turn and they are in a bit of a rush it is very unlikely they will see you until you are right in front of them. There are quite a lot of cyclists in Montreal who ride like you do and I've come within inches of running over several of them. Up here the police can and will stop you and give you a ticket for riding on the wrong side of the road. People who pull out of driveways or side streets are also unlikely to see you.
