Default Trouble Sleeping

Last night I felt like a rotisserie chicken in bed... i absolutely could not get comfortable.. i laid on my back, my side. my stomach (which i rarely do and was a true sign of desperation to get comfortable), my other side.. over and over again. It's amazing nobody came in a sprinkled a little salt and pepper on me during the process.

Do you guys go through phases where you have trouble sleeping? What do you do to try to overcome it?

I think most of my sleepless phases happen if i have a lot on my mind. Sometimes it's hard to stop thinking and tossing things around in my head. Maybe all that brain tossing is what caused the body tossing...

I have found that if I drink about a pint or more of Jack Danials whiskey it helps me sleep...
But I'm always very careful as to not get so drunk that I can't lie on the floor...
On another note, I have found that sleeping on the floor helps my back

I think a pint of Jack Daniels would send me into an eternal sleep... though, it would solve my problem here...

When I first read your post, I thought maybe you're pregnant? (You know, just because a lot of pregnant women have trouble getting comfortable enough to fall asleep) But after the Jack Daniels talk, guess not!
I take a Melatonin which is supposed to be a natural way to increase the melatonin your body makes at night, which helps you sleep.

You guys sound like my friend! She would've answered "a nice pitcher of sangria". Hahaha.

Seriously, though, I used to have trouble sleeping until I realized I just needed to replace our really old pillows. I bought some from Bed, Bath & Beyond and bought their memory pillow for $40, which is less expensive than the Tempurpedic ones but it really really helped get me well-rested.

I actually think some of my problem (aside from the head churning around different things at night) is my mattress. I keep saying I'm going to get a Tempurpedic but my gosh those things are so unreal expensive... but... I have heard that they are insanely good as well.

I kinda like the Sangria idea also... which is my reaffirming to Noel that no, i am definitely not pregnant! (Though the thought did make me chuckle).

I agree, you've got to try the Tempurpedic pillow or something similar to that. There are alternative brands that are a little less expensive. I got mine at Sam's Club around the holidays and saved a bundle.

I tried one of those foam type pillows... you know, those contoured ones you get from the chiropractor, but my head was just simply having none of that. It couldn't have been any less comfortable. Did it take you a while to get used to yours?

I am fortunate that I rarely have any difficulties in falling asleep. I can fall asleep while standing still. I do find that an alcoholic drink will knock me out even faster too.

I've been having an issue the past couple nights, but its been a rather full moon and the light shines off the water behind the bedroom and drives me nuts. Even with an eye cover its just something about the full moon. Once its gone the insomnia is on and off, but never that bad.

I normally take Benydryl/Simply Sleep (same thing, lol) most times if I know I'm not tired and hopefully it gets me tired by bedtime.
