Default Stupid local news shows

I don't usually watch them, but last night I saw a preview for it while watching something else in the afternoon, and they said a clip was coming up on the overdiagnosis of ADHD and how it is often really something else. Well, I watched their whole stupid news program, and finally at the end they did a tiny segment on ADHD that amounted to nothing substantial, then said "go to our website for links to the research". Jerk-heads. I could have done that without being dumbed down for an hour.

I tend to get sucked in, in a similar way. I will see something and like you it is normally health related-especially child health. There have been some horrible things occurring locally lately that bothers me.

But always it's like filler right at the end.

I hate that. The only time you are guaranteed a huge story is if some poor kids had their guts strewn across a mile of highway when they fell out of a car. Sometimes late night talk shows are the same way. I recall missing three nights sleep trying to see my favorite author. He got bumped twice from the midnight late show before finally getting first billing to not get missed due to time.

Yeah, the big stuff tends to make national news and not just the local news and so I guess that is why we don't really get to hear about it on the local shows. It is assumed that we will see it elsewhere perhaps.
