 No ma'am. This is not your hubby, and neither do I know him.  Now don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with this being your special day and all that. I think moms are more than due special days. I just think that it's not the occasion for hubbies to do the treats, there are LOTS of other times for that, it's for the children, big and small, to do their thing and show their appreciation to their MOTHERS. I for one think that all good mothers deserve some extra consideration on this one very special day of the year... I have always sent a dozen roses to my wife [back when I had one] and mother on mothers day... And I always got a babysitter and took my wife out to dinner... Sometimes a movie and nightcap too... But this was kind of self-indulgent, being I enjoyed myself too... But then I never wanted any extra consideration on fathers day, I guess because I know what a dog I am...

Yeah I can see this turning sticky. I am sorry you had such a bad day. I know it's no help but mine was about as bad. In fact in the three years I have been a mother I have not once had a mother's day, because my useless husband decided not to do anything.
I'm not with him anymore and a three year old isn't exactly old enough to do anything alone. So, no mother's day here.

CopyCat, I agree with you too. I actually sent my mom a huge painting of herself and we spoke for quite a while on Mothers Day. I also gave my wife a canvas of herself and it was a nice surprise for her. The kids did their thing too, but our kids are old enough. So don't get me wrong, I agree, snookumsort, that Moms should be pampered on Mothers Day and they should at least get that day as 'me' time. Abigail, I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't kick back and rest a bit last Sunday,but your kid will soon be old enough to give you some rel special attention on your day.
I've always HATED Fathers' Day - and I'm no dog Daddy.

It did take 10 or 15 years off of her... Right after she had it done, I did one time introduce her to a friend as my big sister... And he bought it and even started flirting with her a little bit... Boy she really liked that... lol !!!
