Help Me... User Titles

I'm sure you all know by now that on most forums, users are given specific titles based on how many posts they have made...

I hate the generic ones.. i think i had quickly and without much thought changed them to not-as-generic-but-still-lame user titles.... I want something clever. I know there's some clever minds out there that can help me out here...

Suggestions?

I don't really have any name suggestions, but I do think that they should in some way show rank like military insignia or something like that... And then at some point way on up there, maybe 2000 or more... The user should be given the ability to choose his or her own user title, pending your approval of coarse... This would give peeps something to shoot for and plenty of time to think about what they wanted it to be...

You know I looked previously because I could have sworn there was a way to let users name their own titles after x number of posts (as designated in the admin)... but for the life of me I could not find the option.

I figured after the next major update of vbulletin is released I'll look at getting some sort of user medals/rewards mod in place... i think that's an awesome idea (for a cat).

If you wanted something that had something to do with DVDs or recording devices it could go:

cassette, video tape, CD, DVD, hard drive etc...

That's an interesting idea actually, i hadn't thought of that one... Definitely in the running - good one!

This may sound silly and I hope that soemone else has a better idea..
But just a thought what about doing it like they rate movies...
I know may be silly just just a thought..
it could be G, PG 13, PG. R and of course XXX LOL this one is for Copycat XXX

I like the ratings idea. Alot. Its definitely the most adaptable to the forum levels that I can think of. Although the media type is fun. Can we add 8-track to the list though? lol.

Maybe it's a matter of mixing and matching and just keeping it fun all the way along. I think I turned it on so everyone can just name their own (if people are so inclined to do so) but for those that don't bother, it's fun to set some up.
