This one was another 'exposition' episode. Every week they say all will be revealed, but it doesn't happen.
The big thing for me was Romo Lampkin, Baltar's lawyer from the final epsiodes of season 3. I always thought there was something unusual about him. This week's episode focused on Romo quite a bit, as well as the cat who lives with him and the bag he carries around. Turns out that if you re-watch the episode you get a little Sixth Sense going on. Nobody acknowledges the cat at all, and even Lee asks Romo why he keeps an empty food bowl in his quarters. Turns out the only cat the anyone can see is the corpse in his bag. So... Almost everyone on Galactica is starting to have visions of some sort. Hmm... And apparently the prisoner version of #6 is preggers. Way to go Tigh! Or maybe not...

Ok, its been awhile. I'm fairly happy with the last three episodes, they gave me that same feeling I had watching the first four eps of season 2 in that film/miniseries sort of way. I had no idea what the writers were going for in the episode Revealed until they did it. Previews for this one sorta gave it away but what was lacking was context (which is good, means I have to watch it, which I did, and enjoyed it).
On to speculative/spoilery territory... I thought for sure the last dozen minutes of this mid season episode was a dream, but I didn't see anyone wake up. Most people I talked to about the show hoped the fifth Cylon would be revealed in this one - instead, we get Earth. But what happened? When are they (by our time scale)? Saw some stone architecture, although in the distance from where the characters were, could be a blown out husk of a (more modern) city. Can't know much more yet, they didn't show us much on the scenery front. Not even sure what continent they were on. How about anyone else - did anything you saw in this end sequence look recognizable in terms of where you think the characters are on Earth? Did the 13th tribe somehow nuke themselves into extinction? Talk about this show being grim, and I can't say I'm disappointed. If nothing else, its consistent on that score. But damn. |

I have to be honest and say that this season has been C R A P!!!!!!!
This last episode was the most straight forward one yet and did we not see what was coming? I mean really? I feel like they ran out of ideas. Nothing has made sense it has just been........nonsense. I am very very disappointed. |

Some of you may hate me for saying this, but I definitely preferred the original Battlestar Galatica by a good bit over the new one.
That isn't to say I dislike the new series, but just that it turned out a bit different than I would have expected or liked. |

Blasphemy!
Naw, it's all right. Seeing Earth was a great way to end the mid-season, but now we're left with so many damned questions. I've honestly enjoyed the direction that this season went. It takes everything you've believed about the characters and their motivations and tossed it into the wind. Just like real people do every day.

I agree alexis. I mean, we still don't know for example what it means for Starbuck when they say she'll be responsible for leading humanity to its doom. We already sort of see she's not too thrilled with that notion of her so called destiny. I really want to know also what bearing this has on the four final five Cylons now that they've been given an amnesty - what kinda lives they can look forward to. Anyway, at first glance, Earth doesn't look like a place that can be settled if everything has gone radiological, so what's in store for everyone in them space soup cans?
The only known planets so far they've been by that could save 'em would be going back to New Caprica or going all the way back to Kobol. |
