Well try to plug your dvd into another outlet and see if it works. If not then try just screwing the bottom screws off and take off the top. If that doesn't work try just jamming the door open most of them are not that strong so it should work.

Not all surge protectors are created equal some as they age will cease to function as a suppressor but will continue to act as a multi-outlet switch.
Given that of the three devices the Combo would have the least amount of protection supports this summation. 1) If you are lucky there may be a internal fuse that could be replaced (doubtful) and who can be sure since you included no model number. 2) Yes the situation you describe is fully possible with e-cheapo surge protectors. 3) depends on what is fried but it never hurts to check and since you will need to get the DVD out anyway you might as well see about having it fixed. 4) Either crack it open yourself or take to a repair shop. Be careful when doing so. |
